What women's professional cycling pays in 2026

Fourteen Women's WorldTeams, 246 riders. The league's budgets add up to €80M. What the rules guarantee those riders, in total, is €9.3M of it — 11.7%. The rest is not public, and this page does not guess at it.

There are no salary estimates on these pages. For the men's WorldTour this site estimates every rider's salary, because 28 salaries have been reported and every team's budget is published. In women's cycling 11 riders have a published figure, 10 of them from one article and 6 of them from a single sentence in it. That is not enough to build on, and a number that looks like the men's numbers but rests on a fifth of the evidence would be worse than no number. Methodology.

The floor is the only figure that is certain

A UCI Women's WorldTeam must pay every rider at least the minimum. Multiply it by the riders on each roster and you get the smallest wage bill that team can legally have. It is not an estimate of what they pay — it is the least they can pay.

The guaranteed part is €9.3M of €80M, or 11.7%. One team, FDJ United-Suez, has published a 2026 budget; the other thirteen have not. The league total comes from UCI figures shown at the WorldTour seminar in December 2025.

What is actually known about individual pay

Almost nothing, and that is the finding. The published record is small enough to state in full.

11 riders in the whole of women's cycling have a salary figure attached to their name in print. 10 of those come from one article, and 6 of them share a single sentence in it that puts them all at the same number. There is no second source for any of them.

Riders' own accounts fill some of the gap, and they are worth more than the estimates. A rider survey of 124 professionals in 2022 found 23% earning nothing at all from cycling, and 54% treating it as their sole income.

Questions

How much does a Women's WorldTour rider earn?

The one thing that can be said with certainty is the floor: €38k a year if she is employed by the team, €62k if she is self-employed. Above that the range is wide and mostly unpublished. The handful of figures that have appeared in print run from about €40,000 to €500,000.

Why does this site not estimate women's salaries?

Because the inputs are not there. The men's model is built on reported salaries used as anchors and on every team's published budget; it still misses by a quarter on a typical rider. For the women there are 11 published figures and one published team budget. An estimate built on that would carry the same styling as the men's numbers and a fraction of the evidence.

Is the minimum salary the same as the men's?

Not at WorldTour level. The women's WorldTeam minimum is €38k and the men's WorldTour minimum is €44k. The women's figure did reach parity with the men's ProTeam minimum in 2023, and it has been frozen at the 2025 level for this season.

Where do these numbers come from?

Roster sizes are counted from each team's squad, read on 25 September 2026. The minimum salaries are the UCI's own figures. The league budget totals were presented by the UCI at its WorldTour seminar in December 2025. Every figure on this page is either a rule or a published number, and the sources are listed with the analysis.
