What one point costs: salary per PCS point, 2026
A PCS point is the closest thing cycling has to a unit of results. We took every rider whose salary has been published by the press, 34 in total, and divided that salary by the PCS points he has scored in 2026.
Isaac del Toro costs UAE Team Emirates-XRG €625 per point, the cheapest point among reported salaries. Only Paul Magnier, on a press estimate, comes in lower, at €456. Tao Geoghegan Hart costs Lidl-Trek €33,333, 53 times more. Tadej Pogačar, the best-paid rider in the sport at €8.2M, costs €1,680 per point, just under the peloton average of €1,703.
Youth is cheap: riders aged 25 or under cost €1,467 per point, riders aged 30 and over €3,298. Within one team the gap can be 7-fold: Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe pays €915 per point for Giulio Pellizzari and €6,803 for Maxim van Gils.
All 34 riders, cheapest point first
Median of the 34: €2,468 per point. The bar is on a log scale, so the dearest point does not flatten the rest.

How we calculated it
Salary is the gross annual salary as published by the press (Reported) or as estimated by a single outlet (Press estimate); each figure links to its source on the rider's page. Points are ProCyclingStats points for the 2026 season up to the data snapshot date, not UCI points. Riders who retired during the season are left out, as is one rider whose figure is under review. The peloton average uses every salary on the site, most of which are our model estimates.
The peloton average: 949 salaries, 211,686 PCS points. Methodology · Best value on model salaries
The season is not over. Points will change after the last races of 2026, and this page will be updated with the final numbers in November.
